Polaris RZR, Can-Am Maverick & Yamaha YXZ Repair

Three very different platforms, three very different repair approaches — CVT clutch work on a RZR isn't the same job as Rotax diagnostics on a Maverick or transmission service on a YXZ. We work all three, on-site.

Repair By Platform

Each brand has its own clutch design, electrical architecture, and common failure points — knowing the difference is what keeps a repair from turning into a guessing game.

Polaris RZR

Clutch, drivetrain, and gearcase work on the most common platform on the trail

The RZR's biggest wear points are the primary and secondary clutch and drive belt, especially in soft sand and high heat where belt temperatures climb fast. We also see front gearcase and prop-shaft attention needed on machines that see heavy rock-crawling or deep sand use. Repairs are matched to the RZR's CVT clutch design and torque specs rather than generic UTV assumptions.

Can-Am Maverick

Rotax engine diagnostics and DPS electrical work

Maverick models run a Rotax engine and a CVT clutch system with its own tuning characteristics, distinct from Polaris and Yamaha. A lot of Maverick calls involve Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) faults, electrical connector issues, and Rotax-specific diagnostic codes that need the right scan tool and reference data to read correctly.

Yamaha YXZ

True multi-speed transmission and wet-clutch service, not a CVT

The YXZ1000R stands apart from most of the UTV market — it runs a real multi-speed transmission with a wet clutch instead of a belt-driven CVT. That means clutch service, shift linkage, and transmission fluid work look completely different from a RZR or Maverick, and it takes familiarity with that drivetrain to service it correctly instead of treating it like a standard CVT machine.

Why Platform Knowledge Matters

A mobile mechanic without brand-specific knowledge ends up treating every UTV the same way — which works fine until it doesn't. Torque specs, clutch tuning, fault code interpretation, and even basic fluid specs all differ across RZR, Maverick, and YXZ platforms.

  • RZR clutch and belt work uses Polaris-specific specs and tuning parts.
  • Maverick diagnostics read Rotax and Can-Am DPS fault codes correctly.
  • YXZ transmission and wet-clutch service follows an entirely different procedure than CVT platforms.

Common Questions

Do you work on all RZR models, or just certain years?

We work on RZR models across the lineup, from trail machines to the higher-output turbo models. Clutch and belt specs vary by model and year, so let us know the exact model when you call or request a quote so we bring the right parts.

What's different about Can-Am Maverick electrical systems?

Maverick models use Can-Am's own wiring architecture and Dynamic Power Steering system, which throws its own fault codes and has its own troubleshooting sequence separate from Polaris or Yamaha electrical layouts. A generic diagnostic approach misses a lot of Maverick-specific issues.

Does the Yamaha YXZ need special clutch service?

Yes. Since the YXZ runs a real transmission and wet clutch instead of a CVT belt system, clutch and transmission service uses entirely different procedures, fluids, and wear checks than the CVT-based RZR and Maverick platforms.

Do you use OEM or aftermarket parts?

Both, depending on the part, availability, and what you want for the machine. We'll walk you through the tradeoff on any given repair rather than defaulting to one or the other.
